What questions will I be asked at my K1 Fiance Visa Interview?
I get this question a lot. Understandably, my clients are always nervous for their interview and the first thing I tell them is that they have nothing to worry about. When your relationship is genuine and honest, all you really have to remember is to tell the truth. You are seeking a fiance visa because you are in love and want to get married. You can expect that most if not all of your questions will be about your fiance, how you met, what made you fall in love and what are your plans together. Most interviews take less than 20 minutes.
Some typical questions that you might get asked at your fiance visa interview are:
When did you first meet your fiance and how?
How long have you known each other?
How do you talk with each other?
How often do you talk with your fiance?
What is your fiance’s phone number?
Does your fiance have an email address
How old is your fiance?
When did you first met in person?
How much time have you spent with your fiance?
What did you do together when you met?
When did your fiance propose?
What do you love about your fiance?
Have you made wedding plans. If so, what are they?
Did you announce your engagement?
What is your fiance’s birthday?
Where was your fiance born?
What does your fiance do for a living?
Where does your fiance work?
Does your fiance have any brothers or sisters?
Where does your fiance live?
Are your fiance’s parents alive?
Where do your fiance’s parents live?
Was your fiance ever married before?
When did your fiance get a divorce?
What are your fiance’s interests?
Where do you plan to live in the United States?
Does your fiance speak and understand your language?
Do you speak and understand English?
Have you ever been denied a visa to any country?
These are a few of the questions that you might be asked at your Embassy interview. Like I said, the questions will largely focus on the basics of your relationship. As a suggestion, I would also review the paperwork and forms that you have provided to USCIS and the Embassy to familiarize yourself with everything you have disclosed so far.
